A man has been charged after he was allegedly using a laser and pointing it at aircraft in the Golden Bay area.
It was reported that police airwing attended the area and a laser was pointed at them from a Golden Bay residence.
Officers on ground located the man at a property on Korong Street and a laser was seized.
The 28-year-old Golden Bay man will be summonsed for:
- cause fear or alarm with laser or light to people in conveyances or others
He will appear in court at a later date.
This incident occurred just two weeks after reports of a man charged in Safety Bay for a separate helicopter laser strike on May 13.
Vision in this incident showed a police helicopter being repeatedly targeted by a laser light, before officers apprehended a 22-year-old man at his Safety Bay residence and seized a laser from the property.
Laser light attacks have previously been an issue in the Peel, with two cases taking place in 2014, which resulted in hefty fines.
The Mandurah man charged in 2014 admitted his actions were "stupid and idiotic", and was forced to pay $10,000 with additional court costs.
