A Silver Sands author officially launched her self-published book that shares the tales of yesteryear on Thursday.
Kath Colmer’s book, titled Not All Things Last Forever, is an anthology and illustrates what life was like in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
At a launch event held at the Mandurah Library members of the public gathered to hear Ms Colmer talk about the book.
While discussing the long process that was undertaken to bring the book to life, Ms Colmer read poems that have been incorporated in the book.
The quirky book gives a snapshot of events, bands, food and fads that shaped yesteryear.
Ms Colmer has had 300 copies published and – if she receives greater interest – plans to publish more.
So far more than 200 copies have been sold.
While Ms Colmer has been planning to write the book for “several years” she only started writing two years ago.
Ms Colmer will continue to promote the book through out the south west.
If you would like to hear Ms Colmer discuss the book visit the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club on March 21 at 1pm, bookings required.
The book is available for $22.
