What happened in September
FOOTBALL: Baldivis made history by winning their first Peel Football League premiership, while Waroona took out the reserves and South Mandurah the colts.
FOOTBALL: Peel Thunder followed Baldivis’ lead, making history with their first ever WAFL grand final victory.
CRICKET: The Peel Cricket Association announced the launch of its first ever all-female league, the Peel Perth Scorchers under 13s Girls Competition.
FOOTBALL: Rockingham’s Rocky Collins was named the Peel Football League’s best player when he won the Ross Elliott medal.
FOOTBALL: Peel Thunder’s Michael Humble took out the WAFL colts division’s top individual award, the Jack Clarke medal.
FRISBEE: More than 150 ultimate frisbee enthusiasts flocked to Mandurah to take part in the WA Mixed-Gender Ultimate Championship.
FOOTBALL: South Mandurah’s Brendon Jones was nominated for WA country player of the year.
NETBALL: The Peel Netball League celebrated its season at the Peel Football Netball League’s awards night.
TENNIS: Mandurah Tennis Club star Will Shepherd was chosen to represent WA at a tournament in Canberra.
FOOTBALL: The Peel Football League celebrated its 25th anniversary.
