In September, the City of Mandurah council endorsed the planning of a wellness weekend, which would attract more people and revenue to the region.
Over six months on the event, now known as the Flow State Festival, has received funding through the 2021-2022 Regional Events Scheme.
The weekend will deliver a diverse range of health and well-being based programs and activities targeted at the health-conscious market.
The event is set to run over three days in February 2022, which will provide the opportunity for visitors and locals to explore wellness trends such as yoga, nutrition, meditation and more.

Mandurah and Tourism MP David Templeman said he was pleased to support the development of regional events in the Peel region.
"Thanks to the 2021-22 round of the Regional Events Scheme, 62 events across Western Australia will receive funding of between $5,000 and $40,000," he said.
"The Regional Events Scheme supports a range of smaller or developing sporting, arts, cultural and culinary events that encourage visitation, add vibrancy and provide valuable media exposure for the region.
"I am so pleased that this program is supporting exciting local events here in Mandurah, and I am keen to see locals and visitors enjoying what our region has to offer."
According to council reports, the Flow State Festival will diversify Mandurah's events calendar and in turn recognise the City as an ideal location for events of this kind.
The weekend will include a festival hub with a main stage, peripheral stalls, pop ups and free activities as well as breakout areas and workshops located within local businesses and venues.
Mandurah deputy mayor Caroline Knight said the event would attract people from Perth.
"This is quite an exciting project that we have before us and certainly wellness is a growth industry," she said.
The suggested locations for this event are the Eastern Foreshore, Mandjar Square and Administration Bay.
As the event grows other locations such as the Western Foreshore, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Mandjar Square and Keith Holmes Reserve will also be considered.
As part of the 2021-2022 Regional Events Scheme the Mandurah Action Sports Games also received funding to run in 2022.
