The Peel Harvey Catchment Council hosted their most recent S.H.A.R.E in the Shed event on September 19, focusing on Noongar Participation.
Local Noongar representatives Franklyn Nannup and George Walley made presentations as well as representatives from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Department of Planning Land and Heritage, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and the Department of Finance.
Panelists used the event to update the audience on the importance of engagement with local Noongar communities as well as improved opportunities for Noongar cultural, social and economic development.
Guest speakers discussed topics including the South West Native Title Settlement and the way it works as well as Aboriginal Procurement Policy and Initiatives, followed by a Q&A session and light supper.
