Construction is well underway on the Dwellingup skate park component of the National Trails Centre Project, with works expected to be finished in two months.
The park will incorporate rails and ramps, half and quarter pipes, a wall ride, banks, kerbs and ledges.
Shire of Murray president David Bolt said the park was an anticipated amenity for the town’s younger residents.
Works are expected to be completed at the end of March.

The National Trails Centre Project will also include a pump track, trails centre, expanded Dwellingup History and Visitor Information Centre and upgraded parking and pathways.
Mr Bolt said pump track construction will commence in the week of February 4.
“Riders of all ages will be able to negotiate the asphalt circuit which offers multiple lines and promises a great flow,” he said.
Mr Bolt said the trails centre building was progressing.
“An attractive central walkway to connect various project components has been finalised with the commencement of works to compliment the redevelopment of the trails centre building, parking and pathway improvements to follow the completion of landscape works,” he said.
Hotham Valley Tourist Railway’s turntable installation is progressing well, with completion expected in the next few months.
An out of use rail triangle has been removed and a train turntable placed to better position the town’s rail trails as a central feature of Dwellingup’s tourism offering.
Mr Bolt said trails centre visitors will be able to view the trains as they pass by the centre to turn on the turntable.
“The Shire is proud to roll into the next chapter of construction on this significant project.
“The Dwellingup National Trails Centre Project is a catalyst for establishing a sustainable economy for Dwellingup and the transformation of the town into a national and future international trails town.”
