On December 9, Mandurah family and friends who have lost a loved one will unite to light candles for one hour to honor the memories of their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon.

The ceremony is held world-wide through the Compassionate Friends, a support network created for parents whose children have died.
The service is held annually on the second Sunday in December at 7pm.

World Candle Lighting started in the US in 1997 as a small internet observance but has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.
The Mandurah branch of the Compassionate Friends will be holding a service to commemorate the day at the Christschurch Anglican Church, Sholl Street, Mandurah
The ceremony will be hosted by Father Ian Mabey.
All bereaved parents, relatives, friends and anyone who has lost loved ones are invited to attend.
Those interested are urged to arrive at 6.45pm for a 7.15pm start.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a small framed photograph of your loved one and a small plate for a shared supper.
Candles are provided.
