Senior community members seeking a leg-up on cyber security have been urged to attend a forum, held by Council on the Ageing and Dawesville MP Zak Kirkup, on the issue.
On November 13, the free Seniors Cyber Security Seminar will cover ways to protect residents from phone and computer scammers and how to spot theft attempts, email stings and social media tricks.
Mr Kirkup encouraged all seniors to join in the informative seminar.

“Time and again, we see senior members of our community maliciously targeted by scammers and hackers. They extract millions of dollars from West Australian's and often ruin many people's lives." Mr Kirkup said.
"I want to make surer community is as prepared and protected as possible from these phone and online threats, which is why I am hosting this cyber security seminar.
"I have a commitment to host these annually for our community and last year it was incredibly popular and the feedback was that it was incredibly valuable for all who attended.”
From 10am-12pm, the forum will be held at Port Bouvard Recreation and Sporting Club, at 1 Thisbe Drive, Dawesville.
Those wishing to attend are urged RSVP to zk@kirkup.com.au or 9534 3200 by November 9.
