Mandurah woman Frieda Sullivan celebrated her 105th birthday surrounded by family and friends in her Dudley Park nursing home on Thursday.
Ms Sullivan moved to the coastal community 10 years ago, to join her 75-year-old son Colin.
Ms Sullivan has fond memories of Mandurah from when she frequently visited the area during holidays with her late husband.
To help his mother toast to her impressive milestone, Mr Sullivan and his family joined her for a celebratory banquet.
“I’d like to wish my mum a happy birthday,” Mr Sullivan said.
“She’s pretty wonderful for 105 and she’s been a really good mum. What more can you ask for?”

When asked how it felt to turn 105, Ms Sullivan simply said she “wouldn't recommend it”.
“It’s nice to go at 90 not 105,” she said.
Most of Ms Sullivan’s friends at the Brightwater Care Group are about 20 years younger than her.
According to her niece Kath Colton, Ms Sullivan’s secret to living a long life was down to the smaller things, including “growing flowers and painting”.
The best advice Ms Sullivan could give to the younger generation was to try to “lead a good life and help people”.
