Mandurah resident Mitch Vickers and his decked out Smurf-themed car “Smurfies” will hit the road to raise vital funds for children impacted by cancer as part of Camp Quality’s wesCarpade motoring adventure this Sunday.
Revving their engines for charity, a fleet of 16 themed and 12 official cars will spin their wheels from Mandurah to Busselton over a week-long journey covering a collective 1700 kilometres, which will see them stopping in at towns and schools along the way to rattle their donation tins.
Mr Vickers will be strapping on his seatbelt in his fourth wesCarpade drive this year, saying it was a pleasure to once again take his beloved Smurfies on the charity drive.

“I got involved to give something back to the community and helping kids affected by cancer seemed like a worthy cause,” he said.
“It’s always a good time and since I’ve been doing it our car has been among the top performers for donations raised, so I’m keen to keep that going.”
Supporting Mr Vickers as one of the campaign’s top fundraisers are a string of local businesses and community groups, including Pedders Suspension, who perform all the inspections on his vehicle.
Pedders franchise owner Lex Gelmi said supporting the wesCarpade drive was an easy decision to make.
“We’re really proud that we can get behind such a worthy event – it’s definitely something we want to continue into the future,” he said.
The convoy will start their engines at Mandurah’s Eastern Foreshore on Sunday, August 5, with a community breakfast kicking off at 7.30am before they head off on their journey at 9am.
