Thirty wild and wacky cars will start their engines for the 2018 Camp Quality wesCarpade motoring adventure at Mandurah’s Eastern Foreshore on Sunday, August 5.
The cars – all of which will be more than 20-years-old and decked out in crazy colours – will motor their way from Mandurah to Busselton making stops along the way to raise funds and awareness for children impacted by cancer.
As a collective the group of “weskies” will cover more than 2000 kilometres across the week-long journey, with Camp Quality puppets Kylie, Mel and Dean visiting a number of schools throughout the week to spread the power of positivity and teach kids about cancer.
Camp Quality national events manager Susan Fleming is excited to see many old and new faces coming together for this year’s event.
“It really is such a rewarding experience for everyone involved,” she said.
“It is a week totally fueled by fun and laughter.
“These Weskie’s become friends for life. It’s not a race or a rally, it’s about the kids and the community.”
The convoy kicks off in Mandurah with a community breakfast at 7.30am, with the cars to be parked along the foreshore.
