Ms Webb said she took on the role to push herself and said it was the right time.
“We always encourage Zontians to take on leadership roles...I thought I should step up,” she said.
She said the group focused on helping women, and had a strong focus on domestic violence support.
“We help women with domestic violence, at the Peel Thomas Refuge and we’re part of the Peel Says No to Violence group,” she said.
“Our pledge this year, is to hold an e-safety seminar on cyber bullying.”
Failing to shy from responsibility, Ms Webb has committed herself as a member of the nominating committee for a further two years.
“I’ll work with with members of the group and try and get them to take leadership positions in the club,” she said.
“I have also committed to be a chair of the advocacy group.”
Deborah McLeod, who has been a member for 18 years, will step in as president.
The Peel Zonta Club will be celebrating their 25th anniversary on May 22, at the Sunbreakers function centre.
“Being our birthday, we’ve asked everyone to dress in silver,” she said.
