FORMER Frederick Irwin Anglican School student Jack Miles was recently crowned Mr WA at the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) competition.
Twenty-five-year-old Miles was then selected to compete in the 21st INBA National Natural Physique competition in Melbourne earlier last month where he finished overall runner-up.
Chosen along with nine other West Australians, Miles also won his division for Mr Australia.
It was an excellent performance given there were 250 competitors at the event.
The competition was judged on symmetry and muscularity.
Miles competes in the ‘natural’ competitions which mean no drugs are allowed to enhance the performance.
Miles is randomly drug-tested through the lead-up period to competitions and straight after an event to maintain the integrity of the sport.
According to his mother Stephanie, Miles’ mantra is genetics over synthetics.
After growing up on a farm in Coolup, Miles went to school in Waroona before making the move to Frederick Irwin.
As a current boilermaker /welder, Miles trains at Fitness Warehouse in South Fremantle and is now competing in weightlifting as well.
