Fremantle will be aiming to make up for their embarrassing loss to St Kilda last year when the two sides lock horns in Sunday's AFL clash at Optus Stadium.
The Dockers were still a chance of qualifying for finals when they fronted up for their last match of the home-and-away season against St Kilda in 2021.
But their hopes of a top-eight finish were extinguished in the most brutal fashion as St Kilda went on to post a 58-point win.
The way the Dockers capitulated with so much to play for has been a driving force for the team over summer, and coach Justin Longmuir hasn't forgotten that match.
"They ended our season last year - embarrassed us at the end of last year," Longmuir said.
"So we know what their best is, and it's very good."
Fremantle's victory hopes took a series of blows this week.
Skipper Nat Fyfe will be grounded for several more weeks after his back injury turned out to be worse than first thought, while star midfielder David Mundy and Brennan Cox have been ruled out through COVID-19 protocols.
Key forward Josh Treacy and wingman Liam Henry were both dropped.
The Dockers welcome back ruckman Sean Darcy from a calf injury, while Joel Hamling, Travis Colyer and James Aish have earned recalls.
St Kilda lost vice-captain Dougal Howard to the AFL's health and safety protocols, while Dean Kent and Mitch Owens were dropped.
Former Port Adelaide defender Jarrod Lienert has been named for his Saints debut, while Darragh Joyce also comes into the side.
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, the No.11 pick from last year's national draft, will make his proper debut on Sunday after being an unused medical sub last week.
St Kilda will be aiming to bounce back from their 17-point loss to Collingwood last week.
Fremantle kicked off their season with a thrilling one-point win over the Crows at Adelaide Oval.
Young defender Heath Chapman was the hero, producing a vital knock-back punch on the goalline in the dying seconds to deny the Crows what would have been a match-winning goal or a game-tying point.
Longmuir said Chapman's challenge was to put that moment in the past.
"It was one of the best spoils I've ever seen," Longmuir said.
"He got the pats on the back from his teammates, and then hopefully he's forgotten about it and moved on. You don't want to hang onto it for too long."
