The centre is one of the City of Rockingham's largest community infrastructure projects and is partially funded through a $10million contribution from the State Government through the WA recovery plan.
Construction of the district pavilion, change rooms and indoor recreation centre is currently underway and design work will commence soon for the construction of the southern pavilion, outdoor hardcourts, nature play space and outdoor youth space.
Baldivis Mayor Deb Hamblin said the City was fast-growing and with an increasing number of local sporting clubs, it would benefit greatly from having this dedicated space.
"A strategic aspiration for the City is to plan for future generations, and the delivery of the BDSC through the Community Infrastructure Plan is integral to this," Ms Hamblin said.
"Baldivis is one of the fastest growing suburbs in WA, and construction of the BDSC will be crucial in addressing the growing need for sporting and recreation facilities in the community."
Baldivis Football Club president Brian Emery said the complex would cater for the growth in both men's and women's football.
"The complex blew me away - It is going to be very exciting to eventually get in there," Mr Emery said.
Having a clubhouse that is also a social place to come and enjoy with our families, as well having the pavilion face both ovals, is ideal," Mr Emery said.
White Knights President Daniel Cole said the Club had been desperately trying to find spaces to cater for their growing teams, and the complex was coming at the perfect time.
"We are currently based at Arpenteur (Park) but have spread out to nearly every school in Baldivis for training and playing," Mr Cole said.
