Mandurah Catholic College has a futurist vibe as the 2022 school year gets underway for current Year 11 students.
The decision to commence Year 12 studies during Term Four has hailed positive results with MCC achieving the top scores in the Peel region for both ATAR and VET in 2020.
Acting principal Troy Francesconi said the college was pleased with the decision to have Year 11 students start Year 12 courses early.
"The approach provides the students time to settle into their classes and courses before the Christmas break and makes for a smooth, effective start to classes in the new year," he said.
"For many years, MCC has been focused on developing a broad range of evidenced based teaching and learning programs to suitably prepare all students for life beyond secondary schooling," Deputy principal Paschal McCarthy said.
"So it was extremely pleasing to see our class of 2020 rewarded with outstanding results, and our College acknowledged as achieving the top ATAR and VET scores in the Peel region last year."
MCC's current Year 11 students completed their exams in Week 3 and recently attended a three-day retreat in Serpentine and Dwellingup as part of the College's pastoral care program.
The program called FLOW aims to support and develop students' social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing, prior to arguably what will be the biggest year of their lives so far.
