Falcon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service is opening its doors to the community for its annual Open Day on November 6, after last year's event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Falcon VFRS is really looking forward to opening its doors to the community," Captain Kim Glass said.
"While our priority will always be responding to emergency incidents, we also have a role to educate the community about fire safety.
"Open days allow us to reach out to our entire community and give them the opportunity to learn, while also discovering exactly what it is a volunteer fire and rescue service do."
The theme for the 2021 Falcon Open Day is teamwork, with a number of the displays coming from partner emergency services who work with Falcon to keep the community safe.

"WA Police, St John's Ambulance, the RAC Rescue Chopper, and the SES's K9 unit will all be attended," Captain Glass said.
"Kids will have the opportunity to jump in the rescue chopper simulator and see what it would be like to be flying to an emergency incident, have a look at an ambulance and see what they have on board, as well as speak to the police and learn about how the look to keep the public safe."
Captain Glass also said that the traditional activities of squirting some water, watching a car get cut up, and watching how fire-fighters fight structure fires would also feature, with a different demonstration running every half-hour.
There will also be a stall to help people learn how to prepare for the bush fire season if people were interested.
Cool drinks and a sausage sizzle would also be available for purchase, along with a jumping castle for the kids.
"Falcon's Open Day is a great family event, and we strongly encourage locals to come down, check out what we do, and learn how they can contribute to keeping our community safe," Captain Glass said.
