Local arts, culture and creativity will be in the spotlight during the upcoming Mandurah Arts Festival (October 29 - November 7).
Taking place over two weekends and multiple venues across Mandurah, the festival will bring together a variety of cultural, family-friendly workshops, entertainment and activities.
Programmed to reflect our unique location, people and stories, the festival will provide plenty of opportunities to engage with local arts and culture.
Expect to see music, theatre and dance performances, multicultural celebrations, arts workshops, and phenomenal visual art exhibitions showcasing Mandurah's creative talent, across a variety of artforms.
The Mandurah Arts Festival will be kicking off with a launch event, featuring a live performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed by Australian Baroque, on the Western Foreshore (Friday, October 29).
A major highlight of the launch event will be the official launch of Mandurah's new major public artwork, Meeting Place.
The incredible artwork, which stands more than eight metres tall, offers viewers a unique, interactive and inclusive experience through immersive lighting and audio.
Bring a picnic or enjoy a bite to eat from one of the food trucks, as you enjoy live music from local musicians, and hear from the creative team behind Meeting Place about their inspiration and creative process, in the lead up to the orchestral performance.

Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase events
This year, the Mandurah Arts Festival will include the highly anticipated Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase.
The Showcase will feature more than 50 handcrafted garments taking centre stage in special performances on November 6 and 7 at David Grays arena.
Wearable Art garments will be presented by professional models in a theatricalised catwalk performance, alongside a specially commissioned film, which will simultaneously show the garments in all their wonder.
The In the Fold exhibition will also be open from November 5, and will feature 11 garments made from 90% paper materials, displayed at Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery.

Intercultural Lullabies
Bringing together families from different cultural backgrounds within Mandurah, the Intercultural Lullabies project is a celebration of local diversity.
Presented in partnership with Community Arts Network, community groups from different cultural backgrounds have come together over a three month process, to learn Noongar lullabies and translate them into a variety of languages, including Noongar, Tagalog, Igbo, Esan, South Sudanese Arabic and Indonesian.
These lullabies have been collected into a songbook, prepared especially for the Mandurah Arts Festival, and will be performed live by a community choir during the Intercultural Lullabies celebration.
Copies of the songbook will be available at the event, taking place at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, November 7, so everyone can sing along with the choir.
