The Western Australia Fire & Emergency Service Awards night was held at Crown on September 11.
Amy Calleja and Bec Burns from Mandurah SES were both finalists for the Youth Achievement Award, out of three finalists.
This is the first time that two finalists from the same Unit have been together for the same award.
Rescue team member Ms Calleja, 17, became a finalist through her volunteer role as a junior instructor at the DFES Youth Programs state camp and was acknowledged for her determination to create a safe and welcoming space for young people to grow their confidence.
Ms Burns is the Mandurah SES's media officer and has been in the SES for six years, since 2015.
Her work starting, building and maintaining the WA SES Facebook page, which has grown to 10,000 followers in only a few years, saw her nominated.
She is driven to show the community what the SES does and uses personal community stories to drive engagement.
Bec said her sights are set on gaining 100,000 followers for the page.
