For the second year running the Mandurah Raceway Slot Car Club held a special fund raising event in support of the K9 Dog Rescue Group.
Pets have been a part of most club members' lives for many years so it was a cause close to their hearts.
Several raffles were run with all prizes donated by members and all of the current members participated.
Competition rules were modified, with drivers involved in 'racing incidents' being fined; some proving to be quite zealous.
Supper was donated along with club racing fees for the night, allowing all proceeds to go to the K9 Dog Rescue Group.
The Club were pleased to report that $680 was raised and said a huge thank you to Patti, June and Kaye.
Established in 2018, the Mandurah Raceway Slot Car Club meet every Friday, with practice from 5pm and racing starting at 6pm.
Membership has grown to 17 regular racers, with occasional drivers visiting from other clubs.
The Club has a four-lane timber analogue track, supporting all makes of slot cars.
The cars are 1/32 scale models, including Australian V8 Super Cars, Formula 1 Open Wheelers, Sports Grand Touring, Le Man 24-hour and Rally cars.
