Parents were welcomed back to Assumption Catholic Primary School last Friday, July 30, as recent restrictions were finally lifted.
Everyone had a wonderful start to the school day with a Welcome Back In breakfast, organised by principal Miranda Swann and her team.
"It was an absolute delight to welcome our families back into school with a huge community breakfast," Mrs Swann said.
"The joy, excitement and sense of belonging was evident on the faces of our parents and students alike. Such an event truly epitomizes our school motto 'United in Christ'."
According to one of the school's assistant principals Vanessa Dicker, the day was a "vibrant and joyous event complete with bubbles, balloons and breakfast".
"Despite the challenges and uncertainty in our world at the moment, it was an opportunity to celebrate the gift that is the Assumption School community," she said.
Andie Bartley, also an assistant principal, said: "Let's hope we can stay out of restrictions, and this is the beginning of many events for all our community to enjoy. We have really missed everyone".
Marie Sikoram, chair of the School Advisory thought it was a wonderful way to "gather the community back together" and was pleased to see the event so well attended.
"A wonderful start to the second semester and all the exciting things coming up such as athletics carnivals, One Big Voice, quiz nights, school discos, as well as First Holy Communion," she said.
