Lawn bowls and sailing events as part of the Australian Masters Games will be held in Mandurah in October.
The City of Mandurah and Visit Mandurah are supporting the event which sees a week long festival of about 50 sports played.
The partnership will see the City of Mandurah support the lawn bowls and sailing program as part of the event in 2021.
The games are expected to see about 8,000 participants who do not meet the qualification standards, just an age requirement of at least 30 years old.
The City of Mandurah Mayor, Rhys Williams said he looks forward to welcoming lawn bowls players and sailing enthusiasts to our beautiful city.
"Alongside Visit Mandurah, we're proud to be supporting these sporting programs. We know they will be a hit in Mandurah and a great addition to the exciting Masters Games line up," he said.
"We hope visitors to Perth and the Peel region will take the chance to enjoy everything Mandurah has to offer while they're here, including our great local businesses, cafes and restaurants, and range of tourism opportunities."
Games general manager Kirsten Drower said the games this year included an exciting line up of social and sporting events that would elevate the games program and provide an experience unlike ever before.
"We're looking forward to welcoming local residents of Perth and Mandurah, as well as intrastate and interstate visitors, to explore the Perth and Peel region," said Drower.
The week-long festival of sport will bring together weekend warriors from around Australia to enjoy an extensive sporting and social program in locations across Perth. The Games will feature around 50 sports, ranging from lawn bowls and athletics to netball and tennis.
