Harper's Hero produced another stunning come-from-behind victory to take out the A1 Salvage & Hardware Winter Sprint final (405m) at Tabtouch Park Mandurah.
A week after his last gasp win during the heat stage the Tony Scott-trained chaser powered over the competition once again to claim his first piece of silverware in the sport.
As is his custom Harper's Hero jumped lethargically and was left at the tail of the field at box rise but he quickly clicked up into top gear to push forward along the outside.
When they hit the turn Harper's Hero had moved up into third position and by the time they straightened for the finish line he had surged to the front.
With the lead secured Harper's Hero kicked away to leave his rivals in the dust and score by more than two lengths in 22.46.
Fernando Star ran second with Ballistic Bullet in third place.
After racing primarily over the 490m journey early in his career Harper's Hero has successfully transitioned to 405m racing in the past few months and has now saluted in four of his past seven starts.
The handy black chaser improved his overall record to 13 wins from 36 starts.
