Last week Homestead for Youth founders Carla and Martin Fadelli could finally announce they had raised the money to buy the property the non-profit runs from.
Funds to buy the farm seemed elusive until a surprise investor, a miraculous outpouring of community support and a successful crowd funding campaign took off and came to the attention of last-minute generous donors.
To celebrate the achievement of a lifetime dream, patrons, supporters, family and friends gathered at the property in Meelon.
"It's an incredible feeling to reach this point in the Homestead journey," Mr Fadelli said.
"While we never wavered in our commitment to reduce youth suicide and support youth in crisis, we did sometimes wonder if we would ever find a permanent base for our service".
Services offered at Homestead for Youth include equine therapy, family and individual counselling, residential care, car restoration programmes and not to forget the unique therapy and animal farm tailored to the needs of young people and their families.

Supporters come to Homestead from all walks of life, drawn by the belief that everyone has a role in creating a better world for young people.
Homestead for Youth residential manager Angelique du Toit feels that the best thing about the non-profity is "the wholehearted investment we make in the lives of young people and their families, that plant seeds that can grow into genuine recovery".
Sunday was the day the farm gates opened for good.
