Water damage has forced Mandurah's Community Museum to temporarily close for repairs.
The roof and ceiling is being fixed, along with the completion of some general maintenance.
During the closure teams will also be working to refresh the Museum to have it "looking great when it reopens", according to a City of Mandurah spokesperson.
The Museum is housed in buildings of local historical importance which have served the community as Mandurah's original court rooms, a jail house and its first school.
"Because of this the restoration process is a little more complicated, but the City is working to have the Museum reopen for the community to enjoy as soon as possible", the spokesperson said.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure, and thank the community for their understanding during this time."
The City hasn't given a timeframe for the re-opening, simply saying, "We will have it back open as soon as possible once the works are complete".
The Museum team will be continuing its popular heritage walks, school engagement in local history and management of its important collection items.

Further updates will be provided to the community as the works progress.
