Peel residents from Waroona to Bouvard have been left shaken after encounters with a driver attempting to collide with them, forcing them off of the road.
The past few weeks have seen a number of reports from locals who share startlingly similar tales of a man driving a white 4X4/ute-type vehicle on a rampage. All have asked not to be named, fearing retribution.
A Lake Clifton father told the Mail he encountered the driver while on his way home along Southern Estuary Road. "I saw a guy swerving all over the place. At first I just thought he was distracted, so I pulled further over on my side."
But the driver began on a steady course directly towards the man's car. "He started driving straight towards me. He forced me off the road."
The man confronted the driver, who had a balaclava over his face. "I asked what his problem was. He said something about owning Lake Clifton, and then he sped off."
A young Waroona mother had her two and four-year-old children sitting in the backseat when she encountered the enraged driver.
"I was driving home along Coronation Road and I saw high beams coming towards me on my side of the road from a distance," she said.
The woman flashed her lights and honked her horn to warn him, but he continued rapidly towards her, forcing her to veer off the road with her two young children in the back.
The car continued towards her, and the woman, full of adrenaline, managed to steer further off the beaten track, ending up with her car in a ditch.
"He pulled the finger at me and laughed," the young mother said. "He then started to follow another car. My two-year-old was still asleep, but my older daughter saw the whole thing and kept asking why that man was trying to hit us."
A 16 year-old L-Plater driving his mother and siblings in the car along Lake Clifton Road was followed by the driver after being forced to swerve off the road to avoid a head-on-collision.
The young man acted quickly, managing to safely pull to the side.
"The car tried to turn around and follow us," the boy's mother said. "He was eventually distracted by another car and began to follow them."
"He is going to kill someone if something isn't done," said another Waroona local who was followed along Southern Estuary Road. "I told my kids not to visit me, I'm scared of them driving around here."
Locals have completed police reports and desperately hope that the situation will soon be resolved. Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or reports of similar encounters to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
