Officially opened by Deputy Premier Roger Cook MLA on January 29, Freedom features 57 artworks by 33 renowned artists who explored their feelings and interpretations of freedom through a range of painting mediums including watercolour, oils, acrylic and multi-media.
Mr Cook praised the centre for reaching out to artists to offer the opportunity to exhibit their work.
"The arts are about who we are. The arts are an expression of a community and it's an expression that unites us," he said.
The exhibition is on display in the Fremantle Ports Exhibition Zone at Koorliny Arts Centre Kwinana from February 6 to 12 between 10am and 4pm, and may also be viewed on the Centre's website.
The exhibition is the first of future exhibitions designed to inspire, define and support local, talented artists while nurturing, educating and providing enjoyment of the arts and culture in the community.
