The Mandurah Angels is one of those support groups that has provided a safe forum for women with breast cancer.
Mandurah Angels member Yolanda Baty said the friendships she gained from the group helped her cope with her diagnosis.
"Breast cancer impacted my life funnily in a positive way as I met my lifelong support group of amazing ladies who became close friends," she said.
"It was a very rocky journey but the love, support and friendships from our group helped me to cope and know I wasn't going mad at times."
"After my first meeting I was so uplifted - there were so many others who had gone through this and that helped me find the strength to do the same," another member Linda Mrsa said.
"These ladies are generous with their time and thoughtfulness and I am so glad I found them."
To continue supporting Mandurah women on their breast cancer journey, the group host one fundraiser a year to cover its running costs.
On Saturday, the Mandurah Angels hosted a morning tea to raise funds for their services, which include guest speakers, transportation, lunches, and outings.

Mandurah Angels member Linda Will said community support gives the group a chance to support more women.
"Community support for our group gives it validation and the opportunity to continue to support more women on their breast cancer journey with up to date guest speakers at our meetings and social get togethers, which help women to achieve their new normal," she said.
"We don't need a lot to keep going but we all know a lot can be gained from continuing this group," Ms Mrsa added.
