More than a dozen of the city's bars, restaurants and hotels are looking for staff but according to Mandurah's jobless it is still a hard slog trying to find work.
The Mail has previously reported on the issue, highlighting local businesses facing staffing woes.
Mandurah resident Cassie Leatham, who has been looking for a permanent job since 2016, said trying to find work had been incredibly difficult.
"I've applied for easily over 1000 jobs," she said.
"Some more than once, but they'll send an 'unsuccessful email' and then post another job listing - most don't offer feedback, and ask for either minimal things in the listing, but really are wanting more or extreme amounts of experience.
"I had 3 months worth of work last year, in which the company I was working for downgraded staff and being the last in, I was the first to go."
Over the last four years, she has applied for countless jobs and worked temporary stints. But she has not been able to find a steady, full-time job.
So for Ms Leatham, the reports of Mandurah businesses not being able to find workers is puzzling.

"Job seeking this year has been harder again, for a while there was barely any jobs to apply for, and now they seem to need the people with all the experience back, and don't want to train new staff," she said.
"It's so frustrating, especially when all you want is just a chance to prove you can do the job.
"Seeing all these places saying 'we can't find workers' when I specifically applied there with the right requirements they had in their advertisement is like being kicked while you're down."

Ms Leatham is not the only one struggling to find work with many more jobless airing their frustrations online.
"While I acknowledge that fewer people are applying for positions as a result of higher job seeker payments can we spare a thought for the people who are actually applying for work," Dawesville resident Caroline Cox said in a letter to the editor.
"My daughter was one of the 15 people who applied for...venues nearly two weeks ago and her application has never been acknowledged.
"It's a constant struggle for young people to keep applying for positions when their applications fall on deaf ears and they're not even acknowledged for trying."
"I've handed in my resume asking for any type of work and I've heard nothing back," another Mail reader commented.

Ms Leatham said it was "gut-wrenching" hearing people say businesses were short staffed due to JobKeeper and JobSeeker payments.
"They're not 100 per cent wrong, but there's still a lot of us out there that don't want to rely on the government," she said.
"I think businesses are assuming that most people are only applying to fill their job service requirements, and are missing the ones like me who genuinely want the work."
