To all you Queensland-based Brisbane fans, welcome to our world.
Watching the Broncos in the final minutes against Cronulla was a throwback to the bad old days of State of Origin.
All New South Wales fans know what I'm talking about.
How many times did the Blues lead heading into the final 10 minutes but you just knew, you just knew Queensland would win?
Think Mark Coyne's miraculous 1994 try. Or Darren Lockyer in 2006. Or Tonie Carroll in Origin 1, 1998.
As a Blue, you couldn't sit still, knowing it was coming, but no amount of screaming at the TV could do a damn thing.
At least we could comfort ourselves with the fact they had The King (Wally Lewis), or JT (Johnathan Thurston), Cameron Smith, Billy Slater etc etc.
When the Broncos were eight points up, with 10 minutes left, the old Broncos would never have lost.
But this Brisbane outfit is a million miles from those days, with only one win from its last 10 games.
The Sharks scored three tries in the final minutes to post a 36-26 win.
Broncos' fans can't take any solace though from having a JT or The King or Cameron bring them down.
Cronulla and its coach John Morris have done a superb job, winning six of the past seven games to bolt into sixth spot, but even the most one-eyed fans will admit there's no State of Origin superstars. although back-rower Wade Graham is one hell of a player and there's some rising talent in the forwards.
For Broncos' fans, you get the impression the next eight weeks is going to be like a Blues' fan for much of the past 40 years.
There will be some joy, but far more heartache.
Welcome to our world.
