South Mandurah breaks away from Razorbacks
Rakita Bennell and Anyssa Hardy combined for six goals while Sarah Smith starred as South Mandurah's women claimed a second straight win with a victory over Dwellingup in round three.
The Razorbacks gave a competitive effort in the opening term, but a second quarter blitz buoyed the Falcons to an 11.8 (74) to 4.2 (26) win.
South Mandurah looked ready to run away with the game when they booted three goals in the game's first eight minutes, but Dwellingup fought back late to trail by just two straight kicks at the end of the first.
The second term was all Falcons, however, with Bennell, Hardy and Isobel Boyce all hitting the scoreboard while Cholina Giblett gave great effort around the ground.
By half time their lead was increased to an unassailable 44 points, and despite leveling the contest Dwellingup wasn't able to make up ground on the scoreboard.
South Mandurah sits second on the ladder after the win, while Dwellingup reside at the bottom.
Rams fend off Baldivis challenge
Baldivis gave a spirited challenge but ultimately fell short of Rockingham on Sunday, going down 4.4 (28) to 5.4 (34).
The two sides were deadlocked at 13 points apiece at half time, but a damaging third quarter from the Rams helped the open a gap.
With Kalani Ingram and Holly Coomey finding ways to impact the game, Rockingham managed to push themselves to a 13-point lead at the last change, keeping Baldivis scoreless in the third.
The Brumbies came charging back with a pair of last quarter goals bringing them within striking distance, but the Rams did just enough to notch a win over their rivals.
Tigers on fire in win over Secret Harbour
A well-rounded, four-quarter performance saw Pinjarra bounce back to winning form as they toppled Secret Harbour 9.11 (65) to 1.1 (7) over the weekend.
Jesse Salter was in excellent touch, booting two goals and earning her spot among the best afield in a dominant showing.
The Tigers looked red hot from the outset, but inaccurate kicking saw them head into quarter time up 17 points, a margin that could have been much higher.
The Dockers booted their only goal for the game in the second term, but it did little to stop Pinjarra from storming to a win.
The victory keeps the Tigers atop the table.
