A Mandurah man has been charged with reckless driving after a car smashed through a shopfront window in Smart Street Mall on Saturday night.
Police attended the scene shortly after the driver allegedly drove into the mall designed only for foot traffic, eventually crashing into the window of a bakery about 11pm.
Investigations into exactly how the white Hyundai SUV entered the mall are ongoing, but photos captured by bystanders show a smashed Telstra phone box and a trail of destruction in the car's wake.
Mandurah Police have charged a 20-year-old male with counts of reckless driving, no authority to drive, failing to stop and failing to report a traffic incident as a result of their investigation.
The man will front Mandurah Magistrates Court in August.
