To ensure future healthcare demands in the Peel region can be met, Ramsay Health Care sent a proposal to the McGowan government to redevelop the Peel Health Campus.
The proposal contemplates a significant contribution from the state government, which is in addition to the recent $5 million the McGowan government provided for Peel Health Campus emergency upgrades.
"Ramsay Health Care is committed to investing in the future of Peel Health Campus and continuing to serve the local community," a Peel Health Campus spokesperson said.
"We are in commercial-in-confidential discussions with government and stakeholders to achieve that."
According to the Sustainable Health Review, the Peel-Murray region is highlighted as a pressure point in WA.
The high population growth coupled with an ageing population is expected to drive an increase in demand for health services in the area.

Mandurah MP David Templeman said residents in the Peel region would benefit from these proposed redevelopments.
"The population demographic is high in need, particularly as we have a higher than average number of people in the seniors age cohort," he said.
"I have been working hard to see the Peel Health Campus upgraded and with work on the emergency department upgrades starting soon, services will be greatly improved for people in Mandurah."
The McGowan government is currently assessing the proposal to ensure the future healthcare demands in the Peel-Murray region can be met.
If accepted by the state government, this redevelopment of the Peel Health Campus will drive safety, quality and value, and meet future growth in demand for health services.
More to come.
