A car being driven at more than 80km/h above the limit in Dawesville has been impounded.
Traffic Enforcement Group officers impounded the car on Friday night at about 10pm while on patrol in Dawesville.
Police will allege they detected the white Toyota Camry sedan being driven south-bound at 183km/h in a 100km/h speed zone on the Dawesville Bypass.
They allege the driver did a U-turn and sped away in the opposite direction. The car was stopped and it was established the Toyota Camry was being driven by a 17-year-old P-plate driver. At the time he had two 15-year-old passengers in the car.
The driver and passengers were taken to Mandurah Police Station where the driver's parents were called to attend the police station.
The vehicle was impounded for 28 days and a 17-year-old Golden Bay boy will appear in court at a later date in relation to a Reckless Driving charge.
