Peel region residents have been calling for a motocross track to be installed for years now, and one may soon be on the way.
An idea pitched by a local motocross enthusiast, the Peel Moto Park would provide riders a space to safely enjoy their hobby without having to resort to riding illegally in the streets.
Dirt bike hooning has been a prominent problem in the Mandurah community in the past, with more than 400 complaints being lodged with the City of Mandurah in 2019 alone.

But a spokesperson for the Peel Moto Park believes the potential track would largely ease the burden of illegal riders on the community.
"You have to give these kids somewhere to ride," they said
"At the moment you're getting more than one complaint per day about these riders. They're carving up on the street, the beach or a sidewalk somewhere.
"But if we're able to get this park off the ground then you will see a huge percentage drop in those complaints.
"Right now, to get to a track like the one we are pitching, you'd have to drive at least two hours south to Kirup."
Public debate around an off-road facility was sparked when the Mandurah Mail reported on dirt bike hoons in March.
In a poll run on the Mandurah Mail website, more than 80 per cent of readers voted in favour of a track being installed.
The Peel Moto Park itself would run as a fully maintained business.

Riders of any experience would be permitted to use the facility, with first-aid staff constantly manning the track.
"My idea is to have somewhere that's family-friendly and allows people to just go ride without causing chaos," the spokesperson behind the park said.
"This will also help limit environmental damage done by bikes around town, and you would see a huge contingent of people from out of town visiting Mandurah to check out the track."
A Facebook page has been started to gauge community interest in the Peel Moto Park, with an online survey already receiving an overwhelming 650 responses in less than a week.
Many commenters on the page have already shown their support for the idea.
"It's well overdue," one wrote.
"[This] would be great for the region," another added.
