Wednesday's setting sun was made all the more spectacular behind a thick layer of smoke blanketing the Peel region.
The smoke was due to prescribed burns being carried out by the Parks and Wildlife Service in Dwellingup throughout the day.
While it did clear overnight, it hung around during the afternoon making for a bright red sun that Mandurah Mail readers captured some beautiful photos of.
