When the Halls Head College Education Support Centre staff arrived at students' homes in a school bus last week, they were met by smiling students and appreciative parents.
The staff, who teach students with disabilities, dropped off surprise interim care boxes to provide some fun activities for the students during this difficult time.
Principal Deb Fieldwick said many of Education Support students struggled with sudden change.
"Staff were aware that there was a real sense of disappointment and confusion among students," Ms Fieldwick said.
"We had cancelled end of term excursions, incursions and sadly, our much anticipated whole school camp.
"Staff wanted to cheer up students and support parents so it was decided that we would deliver interim care boxes to provide some fun activities to support learning and family fun between now and start of term two."
The school care boxes contained a mixture of materials for hands on activities, some suitable stationary items, fun activities and other items such as sensory toys usually used at school.
A message and photos of staff faces were also included to help students feel connected to their teachers during their time at home.
