Mandurah boxing sensation "Action" Jackson England will be eager to add the WBC Asia Super Featherweight Title to his trophy case when he takes to the ring at Thunderdome 33 next month.
Squaring off against Philippines fighter Jason Tinampay in the main event on March 6, England will be hoping to power his way to victory in his first bout for 2020.
Tinampay's durability presents a unique problem, but the local star remains confident he can come away with the 12th win of his professional career.
"I'm really pumped for this fight," he said.
"I know he (Tinampay) is going to be tough, but I'm really confident I'll rise to the occasion.
"He's a tough, durable and a pretty unpredictable fighter, so there will probably be a bit of a feeling out period early on, but I'm feeling good and I know what I'm capable of.
"This is just another chance to take another step forward."
The fight presents England with the opportunity to jump up the world ranks, with a potential victory leapfrogging him past Tinampay's current position at 330.
It's an opportunity that demands meticulous preparation, and the Mandurah boxer has been sharpening his skills sparing with former world champion TJ Doheny in the process.
"Getting that kind of preparation in, with a guy who has achieved so much in boxing, that's invaluable," England said.
"There's levels to boxing, and training with people like that is something that helps you get to another level."
As always, England will be cheered on by a cast of Mandurah supporters, a group he never fails to honour in each of his bouts.
"Those people that support me, they're amazing and I can't thank them enough," he said.
"Particularly my girlfriend, she's so supportive as I go through all the training and it helps me out so much.
"But it's also my family, my friends, the businesses down in Mandurah that jump on board - I want to take this thing as far as I can for them."
England's bout will be held at Metro City in Perth on Friday, March 6.
