UPDATE:
Mandurah Detectives are continuing their investigation into a boating incident that occurred in the early hours of February 7.
At this time it appears an incident on the water, near Boundary Island, caused the two occupants of a vessel to be thrown into the water.
The investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the incident - in particular, the owner of a boat moored on Boundary Island and a group of people on the jetty outside Redmanna Waterfront Restaurant.
Any person or premises that has CCTV of the shoreline between Mandurah CBD and Boundary Island is asked to contact Police.

Peel Water Police have located the vessel the two men were on.

EARLIER:
A man in his 30s has died after a boating incident in Mandurah in the early hours of Friday morning.
About 1:15am on February 7, WA Police Force received information about the incident, around Boundary Island, in the Peel Inlet.
It appears the incident caused the two occupants of a vessel to be thrown into the water.
The vessel continued on without them, with no people on board, and has not yet been located and recovered.
Another vessel stopped to assist the two men in the water and they were taken back to the Mariner's Cove boat ramp, where police and St John Ambulance personnel met them.
Tragically, the passenger on board the vessel, a man in his 30s, died as a result of the injuries he received.
The skipper of the vessel, a man in his 20s, is assisting police with the investigation into the incident.
Police are still trying to locate the vessel the men were on and an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
Police do not currently have a description of the vessel but it is believed to still be somewhere in the Mandurah Estuary or Peel Inlet area.
Anyone who sees a vessel run aground, or an unanchored or unsecured vessel drifting in the water, is asked to call police on 131 444.
