I hope that this Christmas people have had an opportunity to affirm their connections to loved ones, family, neighbours and friends.
That this holiday season, we have a chance to see the true beauty in the world and look out for those who may be grieving because of the loss of a loved one, are lonely or suffering illness.
At this time of the year, I also am particularly grateful to and thinking of those in our community who are first responders, our police, emergency services personnel, our medical staff and the huge number of volunteers who stand ready to respond to any bush fire or emergency that may take place over the summer period.
I'd also like to say a big thank you to all those who volunteer to help those in need and to provide some Christmas cheer.
May I sincerely wish everyone in Mandurah and the Peel region a very Merry Christmas, a very safe and happy holiday period and may 2020 be an important year of prosperity and compassion for all Western Australians.
