Former Waroona Demons premiership player Donelle Wallam capped off a glittering season in the WA Netball League (WANL) by taking out the Jill McIntosh Medal on Saturday night.
The West Coast Warriors shooter finished just one win ahead of teammate Stephanie Cooper in the count, securing the competition's highest individual accolade with 16 votes.
Wallam's victory caps off an absolutely blazing season 2019 for the 25-year-old star.
Across the season she's not only claimed a premiership and grand final MVP honours with the Warriors, but also scored a league-high 777 goals to earn herself a spot on the WANL's team of the year.
Proof of the consistency of Wallam's season, she recorded votes in seven of 12 games, collecting maximum votes in two of those.
Wallam was also named players' player of the year at the awards ceremony.
Netball WA general manager of community netball Liz Booth congratulated Wallam on her first Jill McIntosh Medal.
"It's always exciting for a player to win our game's highest honour for the first time and Donnell thoroughly deserves this accolade," Booth said.
"While individual achievements are often secondary in team sports, I'm sure this recognition will mean a great deal to Donnell and is testament to her hard work and the passion she has for the game and her club."
Prior to her stint in the WANL, Wallam was an integral part in Waroona's recent dominance over the Peel Football and Netball League, claiming multiple premierships with the club.
