Dwellingup young gun Deegan Fort raced his way to a top-two finish at the Australian Junior Motocross Championships in Gillman, South Australia earlier this month.
The nine-year-old speedster was one of approximately 300 competitors to hit the track for the national competition, racing in the 50cc class and coming home with second place overall.
Deegan came close to nabbing first place in his final as he bravely hit a double-jump on his last lap, but he came up short cartwheeling over the finish line only to miss out on making the pass by .04 of a second.
He garnered cheers from the spectators as he picked up his bike unhurt, ending his campaign with a stellar top-two finish.
Deegan was one of just eight WA riders who's placing score went towards the state's overall tally, with WA finishing third just missing out on second place to NSW by a few points.
