Yamato Drummers of Japan headed back to Mandurah with high-energy, explosive show

Promising a visually breathtaking, high-energy and explosive show, Yamato The Drummers of Japan are headed back to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre stage next month with their new show Passion.

Back by popular demand after their hugely successful Australian tour in 2017, Passion will captive local audiences with highly rhythmic drumming that challenges and pushes the cast to their absolute limit.

Using drums that weight up to half a tonne, the drummers' remarkable physical strength and trademark infectious energy will be showcased in an exhilarating spectacle.

The cast of 14 male and female musicians hail from Japan's Nara prefecture and present a thrilling and explosive interpretation of the centuries-old Taiko tradition.

Performers move their whole bodies to strike the drum with a powerful surge of energy that uplifts audiences in sync with the rhythm, providing a dazzling perspective of the range of sound and mood drums are capable of.

Celebrating 25 years of performances in 2019, their heart-thumping rhythm and thunderous beats have now captivated audiences of over 7 million people in 54 countries around the world.

This year, Yamato Drummers of Japan have been hard at work playing a three-week season in London's West End and touring through Switzerland, Italy and Holland.

Yamato Drummers of Japan will perform their new show Passion at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, September 15.
