The Mandurah Mustangs locked in a home final as a hot start helped them overcome a spirited Waroona effort and take a 9.11 (65) to 13.11 (89) win at Parnell Street Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Alex McLeod scored five goals and Brandon Penny gave a best afield performance as the red and white galloped into their first finals campaign in nine years.
Mandurah was off to a cracking start as they poured on six goals in the first term.
The Demons had the first of the game but Kobe Farmer responded for the visitors.
Penny gave them the lead midway through the term, before McLeod piled up three late goals to give Mandurah a comfortable 17-point lead at the first break.
Scoring slowed in the second but the Mustangs still managed to push their lead to four goals, despite solid efforts from Waroona's Shane Hunter and Eli Smith.
Mandurah was able to get rolling once again in the third, with a five-goal run defining the result.
Waroona tallied three of their own but Mandurah was able to break away to a 35-point buffer at the final break, enough to protect their lead despite not kicking a goal in the fourth term.
The Demons were gallant in the fourth snaring two of their own majors, but it wasn't enough to make a serious run at victory in their final game of the season.
The win ensures Mandurah will play at home in their first final since the 2010 season, giving the Mustangs mob plenty to cheer about.
In a twist of fate, they will clash with Centrals in all three grades at Rushton Park this coming weekend, with the colts and reserves sides also playing at the ground.
The colts final kicks off at 10.30am, with the reserves to follow at 12.30pm before the league game kicks off at 2.30pm.
