The South Mandurah Falcons booked their ticket in the PFNL's netball grand final with a thrilling win over the Pinjarra Tigers at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday night.
Pinjarra headed into the clash looking to bounce back after a qualifying final loss to Waroona the week prior, while the Falcons were leaning on the good form they displayed in a thrilling win over Rockingham in their elimination final.
The clash proved a heart-stopping showdown with the two eager to claim their spot in the grand final, but it was South Mandurah shining brightest down the stretch as they nabbed a 38-42 victory.
It's a win that sets the Falcons up with a grand final date against premiership fancies Waroona, who enjoyed a week off after winning their qualifier two weeks prior.
The Demons head in searching for a third straight premiership, but the South Mandurah squad will fancy their chances after causing back-to-back upsets.
Pinjarra also fell short in a thriller in the reserves clash, with Rockingham taking out the victory and earning a spot in the decider.
The Tigers came in full of momentum after on overtime win in week one of the post-season, but the Rams proved too much as they took a 49-43 win to lock down a spot in the grand final match.
However, Pinjarra did have more luck in the open division, collecting a handsome 56-32 win over Halls Head in their preliminary final clash.
Meanwhile the Falcons won another thriller in the under 20s, overcoming Mandurah by the barest of margins with a 55-54 victory.
All grand finals are set to be played throughout the afternoon and into the evening at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday, August 17.
