An application by the prosecution to impose stricter bail conditions on animal activist James Warden, including reinstating a nighttime curfew, was refused by the Mandurah Magistrate on Friday.
Animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere member Mr Warden, 25, appeared in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday, on seven charges.
Mr Warden had previously pleaded not guilty in the Mandurah Magistrates Court to stealing a dead piglet from West Pinjarra's GD Pork piggery on September 9, 2018 and a Friesian calf worth $1500 from a Brunswick dairy farm on October 23, 2018.
He had pleaded guilty to trespassing on farms in Nambeelup and Hopeland between August 28-29, 2018, and at GD Pork in West Pinjarra on November 11, 2018.
Co-accused Katrina Sobianina, 25, had also pleaded guilty to trespassing at the GD Pork and Hopeland piggeries, but pleaded not guilty to stealing a dead piglet from GD Pork piggery on September 9, 2018.
Warden's lawyer Marilyn Loveday asked for the matters to be adjourned to August 16, when two other co-accused would be appearing in court, to set a trial date.
Police prosecutor Tamara Read told the court the matter was "convoluted" with charges having been before "several different courts and several different magistrates".
She predicted the trial would be in excess of two days.
But, Ms Loveday said it would go for "weeks and not days" as she had received over 500 pages of documents from police in relation to Mr Warden's charges.
Senior Constable Read said both Ms Sobianina and Mr Warden had been served move on notices in recent days for protesting after preventing truck drivers from entering yards to their establishments.
She sought to amend their bail conditions to not be within 50 metres of an animal husbandry business. Currently, they are not allowed to be within a 10 metre radius.
But, Mandurah Magistrate Anne Longden said without a written application she was not prepared to amend the bail conditions as Ms Loveday said Perth Magistrate Joe Randazzo had considered and refused the amendment at an earlier court date.
Senior Constable Read also asked to reinstate Mr Warden's nighttime curfew conditions, but this was also refused.
Ms Loveday said Mr Warden had secured full-time employment and would be moving from the Bayswater area to Beckenham.
Mr Warden and Ms Sobianina are due to reappear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on August 16.
Co-accused East Perth man Arkadiusz Robert Swiebodzinski, 25, has pleaded not guilty to stealing, aggravated burglary and commit and trespass.
Co-accused Yangebup woman Mihaela Herceg, 21, has not entered a plea to two counts of stealing, two counts of aggravated burglary and commit and two counts of trespass.
They are both due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on August 16.
