After representing the community for almost four years, Tahlia Jones has stepped down from her position as a City of Mandurah councillor.
Since being elected in October 2015, the Coastal Ward councillor has served in a number of groups including the Mandurah Coastcare Coordinating Advisory Group, Mandurah Environmental Advisory Group, Mandurah Quay and Port Bouvard Waterways Advisory Groups and the Metropolitan South-West Joint Development Assessment Panel.
At a council meeting on June 25, councillors acknowledged and admired Ms Jones' dedication and hard work during her time in the role.
Mandurah mayor Rhys Williams praised Ms Jones for her active contribution to the Mandurah community.
"It takes courage and dedication to step up as councillor and Tahlia has done a fantastic job in representing her ward and the broader Mandurah community," he said.
"While we will miss Tahlia's contribution as a councillor, I am pleased that Mandurah will continue to benefit from her knowledge, expertise and professionalism."

Ms Jones' career has spanned both private and public sectors, with over 12 years of experience in delivering outcomes in policy, corporate services and community engagement.
She will now take on the role of governance services manager for the City of Mandurah from July 8.
Ms Jones said she was proud of the outcomes she had delivered for Mandurah residents and was looking forward to taking on her position within the city.
Her term of office was due to end this year, with her position up for grabs at the upcoming October 19 local government elections.
At the council meeting on Tuesday, a motion was carried unanimously to request the approval of the Electoral Commissioner to allow the vacancy of the Coastal Ward to remain unfilled until the elections are conducted.
In the report prepared for council by chief executive Mark Newman, it was suggested that holding an extraordinary election for the position would be an unbudgeted expense and unlikely to be achieved in time for the local government elections.
Mr Newman will now make the request to the Electoral Commissioner.
