The use of the F-bomb in their club song has landed the South Mandurah Falcons in hot water, with the Peel Football and Netball League dealing the club a suspended $500 fine.
The penalty was handed down after the PFNL's round 10 action over the weekend, with the club cited for the use of the word at the conclusion of their song.
PFNL general manager Geoff Hiller said profanities in club anthems did not align with the league's code of conduct.
"We're in a social environment and we are a family-friendly league, so we're trying to be as professional as we can be," he said.
"At the end of the day we and our clubs operate by a code of conduct and this wasn't in line with that."
While the word has been a regular (and rather boisterous) fixture in the end-of-game anthem for some time, it is understood it is not the club's official lyric.
The club has accepted the penalty handed down by the league, and has urged its players to be more cautious when celebrating a win in the future.
