Murray Medical Centre (MMC) have announced the retirement of their beloved receptionist, Edna Morfitt.
Starting with the company in 1986, Ms Morfitt has dedicated more than 33 years of service to MMC.
Throughout her career, she has seen the business move from a small practice on Sholl Street to its current location on Minilya Parkway in Greenfields, grow from six doctors to 24 and 10 staff to 30, as well as progress with the times from paper files to digital records and appointment books.
Ms Morfitt's time at MMC spans almost that of Dr Jones, Dr Walker and Dr Backhouse as well as working alongside multiple general practitioners, specialists, nurses and administration staff.
Considered by MMC to be the friendly face of the practice, Ms Morfitt has supported many generations of patients through the highs and lows of their journey, saw many children become parents and parents become grandparents.
MMC said they were not just patients to Ms Morfitt but instead lifelong friends who will miss her.
Staff at the practice will also miss their colleague who they said always treated them with respect and love, while nurturing them along the way and for that, MMC will be forever grateful for her presence.
After a total of more than four decades in the medical industry, Ms Morfitt's hard work, commitment and outstanding contribution to the Mandurah community has not gone unnoticed.
MMC thanked Ms Morfitt for her many years of service and wished her well on a retirement full of adventure and relaxation.
