Fishability is a charity providing recreational fishing opportunities for children and adults living with disabilities, with the Mandurah community making the most of their presence.
Fishability in Mandurah commenced operations in 2012 and in a short time has grown exponentially with dozens of children and adults enjoying the program every week.
Under the leadership and guidance of program coordinator Dee Castillo and her team of volunteers, the Fishability jetty platform activities are delivered on a weekly basis at various locations throughout the Peel region at no cost to the participant.
Through the generosity of the Rotary Wishing Well Fund, Fishability recently was able to purchase and update the program with all the necessary equipment.
The pledge has come from the Mandurah chapter of Rotary who has been a constant support of Fishability over the years.
"With a strong presence in the Mandurah area, the Fishability Mandurah program is an awesome opportunity to connect with others, be part of a social network, experience recreational fishing and enjoy the surroundings of the waterways in the Peel region," executive officer Di Bruce said.
"We are extremely appreciative of the local Rotary club's pledge to ensure that we continue to perform with our work in Mandurah."
